The autosec project hosts two major projects, Poor Man's IDS, and Sonar. Poor Mans's IDS is a collection of bash scripts used to check the system for file alterations, and other weird errata. Sonar is used for network reconnaisance.
Sonar is meant to be a pluggable remake of nmap. Currently, it provides its statistics through two available scan types. Since sonar is entirely plugin based, its scanning capability can be extended at any time with custom scan techniques.
Sonar is always under ongoing development. To contribute, subscribe to the development mailing list, checkout the cvs code, and send in patches. Patches can be submitted to the sourceforge tracker.
